Through my personal love for the scriptures, namely the Book of Mormon, I have chosen to illustrate the historical and sacred events surrounding the journey undertaken by Lehi's and Ishmael's families as they traveled from Jerusalem to the Promised Land. The Out of Jerusalem series is a four-volume set—Volume One covers the departure of the family from Jerusalem, Volume Two takes them to the land of Bountiful, Volume Three follows the family to the promised land, and Volume Four will encompass the family's colonization in the promised land and their eventual separation.

It is my hope that the readers will enjoy the easy narrative and fast-paced nature of this fictional series, and in the end, the next time they open the Book of Mormon, vivid colors, sights, and sounds will reach into their hearts, drawing them into the fascinating events.
